Hero Ways, Zero Waste
We have always been so dependent on our environment because it’s our number one source for everything we need for everyday life. The sun gives us light in the day, and the moon and stars guide us in the night. Trees provide us shelter, furniture, purifies the air, and most importantly, provides us oxygen. Water keeps us hydrated. Animals and plants gives us food, and many more. In other words, we rely on our environment. The Lord has given us such wonderful creations that provide for us, so we should take care and protect them to show our appreciation and so that these creations would continue providing for us as well.
There are so many environmental issues around the globe, but luckily, we are provided with solutions. Unfortunately, no matter how many people try to encourage everybody to care for the environment, there are still those who do the opposite. That’s where this blog comes in, this blog will provide some information to further convince people to care and protect the environment.
The World Health Organization says 92 percent of the world's population breathes air containing pollutants. There are also approximately 689 million people who lives in poverty. With these said, I can say that if the world continues to be polluted, a lot of people would continue to suffer from the poor environment they live in. Possibly, if we fail to take care of our environment, everyone will be greatly affected. And there might not be a bright future for our children. So as early as now, we should continue to take care of the environment, starting locally. Of course, we should also spread awareness and should have team work. The more the merrier. More ideas and solutions can be made, and could increase the cleanliness and safety of our environment.
While it really seems difficult to change the world into a better place, we should keep in mind that God is always with us and guiding us. It might seem impossible to make the whole world safe and healthy to live in, but we have all the time we need, we just need to continue on our feet and never stop so we can still wake up to a bright tomorrow.
It’s true that there are a ton of environmental issues, and I’m not even trying to exaggerate. There are still those hard-headed people who never learns. But it’s important to do things one at a time, slow and steady. To keep the environment clean is to know what you’re doing with your wastes. We should learn how to properly segregate our waste and know what is still useful, so that less wastes can be discarded.
One way to properly segregate your wastes is to label your trash bins ‘biodegradable wastes’ or a type of waste, typically originating from plant or animal sources, which may be degraded by other living organisms; the other label would be ‘non-biodegradable’ or wastes that cannot be broken by other living organisms; and another would be ‘recyclable wastes’ which the label speaks for itself.
If you want to be more organized and specific about which wastes are which, then you can label them as paper, plastic, metal, glass and organic wastes.
You know, wastes are not useless. Some ways to make them useful and beneficial are the following:
- Reuse, Reduce, Recycle (3Rs)
- Making a compost
By doing some of the mentioned methods above, you can not only save the environment, but also save money, conserve energy and lessen the space in landfills. It will also bring out your critical and creative side!
To put this simply, we can do so much simply things to help our environment. The environment keeps us alive and it is our home. If we want to stay healthy and safe, we should take care and protect the environment. Let us all work together, spread awareness and have zero ways with our hero ways!
